Steve Campbell
Stephen R. Campbell retired as Chief
of Police in Port Hueneme, California in 2000. Prior to his appointment
as Chief in December 1997, Steve’s law enforcement career began as a cadet
with the Glendale California Police Department in 1971. His first assignment
was as a Property Clerk at the age of 19.
Steve has experience in developing
the community policing philosophy in Glendale as well as in Port Hueneme.
He also has experience in the detective bureau management, patrol administration
and tactical team development. Steve has worked with Lieutenant Latta since
1979 in law enforcement.
Steve has served on the Board of
Directors for the International Association for Property and Evidence,
Inc. since 1995. For over ten years, Steve has instructed with I.A.P.E.
and has done Property Room audits for police agencies throughout the United
States.
Steve’s bachelor’s degree is in
Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco, and has
completed graduate studies at the University of Southern California, U.C.L.A.
and the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National
Academy in Quantico, Virginia, Class 189.
Steve and his family reside in Issaquah,
