Associated Press, Chula Vista, CA Police figured they found a way to finger Victor Arreola in a recent carjacking. They possessed a digit he allegedly lost during the crime. But the officer who offered to return the missing middle finger promised to arrest Arreola if he claimed it. He refused, and the time for surgical reattachment quickly passed. The finger was caught in a car door slammed on the suspect's hand by
the victim. It is now stored in a National City Police Department refrigerator,
and Arreola is in jail awaiting trial on charges of attempted carjacking
and robbery. Copyright © 1997 International Association for Property and Evidence, Inc. Reprinted from the Evidence Log, Volume 1997, Number 1, Page 5 |
