First off, let me thank you for the great time in Lexington. Jim George and I came away from your classes with several ideas that have been implemented in our property room .... We have since made some changes in the way we catalog and store our property and evidence .... We have also incorporated some new security measures in this room. Because of the ideas and knowledge we brought back from your classes, we have received several compliments from the senior staff here .... Again, thanks to you and your staff for the seminar and publication. Your organization has shed a lot of light on a new subject area for me. You have made my job much simpler. Sgt. Frank Bowen, Columbus (OH)
As a present member, I look forward to receiving the Evidence Log as it always contains excellent information. I can honestly say that this Association operates on the highest standards and is a vital tool for any law enforcement agency that is involved with this group. My law enforcement career is fast approaching a close, but until this occurs, your organization will have my overwhelming support. Sgt. Norm Hanson, Identification
I would like to take this time to personally thank IAPE for all the help that I have received. I have been assigned to evidence and property since July of 1996. I attended a training course hosted by IAPE in October of 1996. Before attending this course I had no idea what I had gotten into. I did not realize what the responsibilities and duties of my job were. Most of all I did not know the liability. After attending this training course taught by Joseph Latta, I was able to remodel both of my evidence rooms, create a better property receipt, and train the deputies on the packaging of evidence. I will be teaching a class covering evidence and property procedures to all of the employees at the sheriff's office in the near future. I have to say that without the training I received I would probably still be standing in a room of clutter. Anytime I needed help or information pertaining to an issue I could call Joe Latta and he would do his best to assist me. Tina M. Stacy
I just want to let you know I enjoy reading the property and evidence magazine and knowing that I am not the only one who has problems with storage, budgets and chain of custody .... Thanks so much, and keep up the good work. Larry Palmer
This is an excellent publication, and, apparently, very much needed by law enforcement agencies. Our Patrol Division Lieutenant, one of our Investigators and I have attended the Managing Property and Evidence in Law Enforcement Agencies course and find it to be very beneficial and informative .... Investigator Williamson, who had been to your course previously, used a lot of the information from the course to set up what seems to be a very effective program at this facility. Over a three month period, we sorted through evidence that had been here up to 20 years, requested destruct/auction orders, and "cleaned house." I have requested to attend your course again this year as a "refresher." Keep up the good work. Doyle Neal,
I really appreciate all the information you sent. I have proposed to our administration for you to come and give a seminar. They are in agreement, however, prior to setting a date they are reviewing the hosting options and have sent a teletype to get an idea of people interested .... Again, thank you for all of your help and information. I have been referring several people in this position to your Association. I am very pleased with the information and stories you are providing for Evidence Technicians and have received positive feedback from others also. Janina Wresh
I have been a member of IAPE for the past four years. I greatly enjoy reading the Evidence Log. Sue Ellen Schack
I just received my Evidence Log 96-02, and was very saddened to hear about Robin. I'm sure the large load of responsibilities she held will be hard to fill .... I know you worked closely with Robin so you will be able to carry on her dreams. I truly wish you the best of luck. ... I feel my Property Room is quite orderly and smooth-running, largely because of all the information I received at your seminar in 1996 and information from the Evidence Log. Christine Moore
