Dear IAPE Member, Since my last letter, your IAPE staff has been extremely busy with training seminars around the country. Included in the summer whirlwind tour were classes in Redmond (W A), Kansas City (MO), and Ashland (OR). In addition, I squeezed in teaching a class in Concord (MA) for the International Association of Chiefs of Police. In every place that we have presented classes, the response from our members and other property professionals has been great. My experience in teaching property management classes over 100 times has shown that property officers are always looking to learn something to help them to do their jobs better, and are always willing to share what they have learned with those newer to the profession than they are. As the primary instructor for the IAPE, I want to especially commend the IAPE members attending the classes for their participation, input, and desire to continually increase the professionalism of the property management function. The demand for classes remains so high that in the next three months, IAPE will cross the country again, offering classes in Arlington (TX), Napersville (IL), and Richmond (VA). Recently a question as asked about the "international" part of IAPE. In the last three months we have received inquiries from agencies in Pakistan, India, Brazil, Germany, Great Britain, Venezuela, and Haiti. United States members are located in every state of the nation except for North and South Dakota, and West Virginia. If you know anyone at agencies in any of those states, please tell them about our organization. Our membership has grown by over 50% since last year, so we are surely filling a need. As a member of this fine organization, you can be proud of what we are doing to fill the tremendous need for education and networking as we become even more professional in our activities. By the time our next (fourth) issue of The Evidence Log is published we should have the entire 1998 training schedule completed. If you are interested in co-sponsoring a class next year, please call as soon as possible for further details. Sincerely,
