By Joseph T. Latta, IAPE Executive Director During the past twelve months The Evidence Log has been committed to bringing our readers novel, and entertaining, items of evidence. Our entries for this Issue's column are a lesson in one-upmanship (which is probably how this column started in the first place). These were picked up at the recent conference of the California Association for Property and Evidence. Leslie Warren, Ventura County Sheriff s Department, has dirt from a grave in their property room. David Browning, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, goes that a step further with a moon rock, which although "one up" on dirt, certainly is not unique, as other departments have reported having moon rocks. Lew Morrison, Monterey Park Police Department, has a video camera from
an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) in their property room. Not to
be outdone, Nina Seleman of the Gilroy Police Department, has an entire
ATM machine gracing their property room. [And it probably doesn't even
work! ed] Copyright © 1998 International Association for Property and Evidence, Inc. Reprinted from the Evidence Log, Volume 1998, Number 1, Page 4 |
