Evidence Technician Kim Gittleson of the Steamboat Springs (CO) Police Department reports in interesting item in her property room.  She has a toilet bowl plunger which has been converted to smoke marijuana.  The handle has been hollowed out, and a miniature toilet bowl has been attached to the handle end to hold the burning marijuana.  The rubber plunger portion is placed over the user's nose and mouth like a mask, and used to inhale the smoke.  Kim is a one year IAPE member, and joined the Colorado Association of Property and Evidence Technicians (CAPET) two years ago, as soon as she was transferred to a property room assignment.  Thanks for your entry in our contest, and also the nice comments about The Evidence Log in your letter.

A number of people have all or parts of various animals in their Property Rooms.  Todd Hoffman of the Wright County Sheriff s Office in Buffalo (MN) has a bear paw, sans bear.  Larry Snaza of the South St. Paul (MN) Police Department has a chicken foot.  Mike Adams, stationed in Kodiak (AK) with the National Marine Fisheries Service, has a sea lion head, sea lion whiskers, and whale blubber.

Bob Roman of the Saint Louis Park Police (MN) has six tombstones in his Property Room, but the selection of the winner this issue, was no contest.  Alan Seer is with the Milwaukee (WI) Police Department.  He reports that his Property Room has responsibility for the entire apartment and all of the contents where Jeffrey Dahmer committed his atrocities.  We didn't even want to ask what "all of the contents" included.  Thanks to all of our participants once again!
