I've Got Something You Don't Have!
This issue
is a little bit short on space, so we are focusing on just two entries
so we can share the great photographs with you and still squeeze it all
onto a single page.
The first two of the pictures give you a perspective on a law enforcement
specialty:
Airport Police. Evidence Technician Angie Russ of the Tampa (FL) International
Airport Police also has the dubious distinction of being responsible for
their Lost & Found. Although restrictions and methods of destruction
have changed recently and thankfully are reducing the numbers of items
for destruction, these photographs are of some
fairly recent seizures. The first photo above shows the typical contents
of one of the amnesty boxes designed to gain voluntary compliance from
people about to go through the security. The other photo on the left shows
some of the tools that have been seized from people prior to boarding the
aircraft based on their possible use as weapons. Thanks to Angie for taking
some quick photos before dumping this stuff, and now they have time to
focus on firearms and chemical weapons, which are seized on a regular basis.
The last photo on the right is courtesy of Kay Bradshaw, Property and
Evidence
Supervisor for the Collier County (FL) Sheriff's Office. In case you are
not familiar enough with bovine anatomy to immediately identify the photo,
it is a set of cow's ears, tightly sealed in an odor-proof plastic bag.
They have graced the Collier County Sheriff's property room since 1995,
and according to Kay, the Deputy still refuses to sign them off for disposition.
Perhaps he's looking for the cow they came from!
Thanks to you both for sharing.
