What was your Property Room Building before you moved in? The editors of The Evidence Log want to know if there is any history behind your property rooms. Here are some great examples: Spencer Police Department, South Carolina - The Property Room for the Spencer Police Department was previously a YMCA that was built specifically for use by Railroad Conductors. Spencer is exactly 500 miles from Washington, D.C. and 500 miles from Atlanta. The old steam engines had a 500 mile capability, so Spencer became an overnight stop for the railroad conductors. NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (U.S. Dept. of Commerce) - The Property and Evidence Room for N.O.A.A. is in a building that formerly was a Fish Oil company. Can't make that one up! Please submit any stories and/or photos to jlatta@iape.org,
using "This Old House" in the subject line. Thanks! Copyright © 2006 International Association for Property and Evidence, Inc. Reprinted from the Evidence Log, Volume 2006, Number 3, Page 41 |
