Distinguished Member Program

Distinguished Member status is a recognition of the superior efforts of the individual in support and furtherance of the associations goals and purposes.  the special distinction may be awarded to a member in good standing meeting the requiremants.

A distinguished member retains the rights and privileges of the class of membership (ie: active, associate) held prior to recognition as a Distinguished member.

The purpose of awarding Distinguished Member status is to encourage the membership to become involved and participate actively in the mutual exchange of information.

Any eligible member can qualify for distinguished Member status by compiling ten (10) points as outlined below and who has not been the subject of disciplinary acions due to unprofessional conduct duing the same period of membership is eligible to apply.  it is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain and provide copies of all required documentation (ie: articles, abstracts, communications, attendance certificates, etc.). Points may be compiled in the following manner:

Association Participation
(Range: up to a 6 point maximum)
Committee Member/Officer (max. 3points)
1 pt.
Conference/Training Event Attendance (max. 2 pts.)
1 pt.
Conference/Training Event Committee Participant (max. 1 pt per year)
1 pt.
Conference/Training Event Panel Member (max. 2 pts per year)
1 pt.
Presentation of paper or workshop instructor at conference/training event (no limit)
1 pt.
Publication
(Range: minumum 4 points, maximum 10 points)
"Article" published in the Evidence Log
2 pts
Each "case report" published
1 pt.
Each abstract, "news article" or other communication published
(max. 2 pts)
1/2 pt.

Applications for Distinguished Member Status must be made on the designated form.  the completed application form must be accompanied by copies of supporting documentation.  It is the applicant's responsibility to gather and provide required documentation (ie: articles, certificates of attendance, etc.)  Upon confirmation that the applicant meets the established criteria, the application will be forwarded to the Board of Directors for consideration.  Once the application has be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors, the designation of "Distinguished member" will be cconferred.  A certificate will be issued to the recipient in recognition of their attainment.
