The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
(from the Evidence Log Vol 96, No 2)

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
by Joseph Latta

It is estimated that there are over 20,000 law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.  This includes municipal police, sheriffs, highway patrols, campus police, airport and harbor police, Federal and State agencies, railroad police and a myriad of other investigative units.  Without exception, every one of these agencies has at least one thing in conunon, they all have property and evidence storage areas of some sort.  I would like to encourage all of the members to feel free to share with the other readers your good, your bad, and your ugly.

The Evidence Log interested in sharing property room successes and even property room nightmares.  The successes will provide a valuable forum to share your design and storage remedies with others.  The nightmares will allow all of us to appreciate our own environment.  And the ugly may just give us all a good laugh.  In the upcoming issues of the Evidence Log, we will feature those property rooms where the users choose to share their trial and tribulations.

Please send I.A.P.E. your best, your worst, or something really ugly.

The first Good, Bad and Ugly features my own Department's organized bicycle storage (circa 1980).  Take close note of how many bikes can be secured in such a small area.  Next month we move on to the good!
