Can anyone become an IAPE member?
There are certain requirements that must be met to qualify for membership. Please read our "Requirements for Membership". To join, fill out the online form and pay the annual dues, eith online or by mail.

How often does IAPE offer classes?
IAPE generally offers about 24 – 25 classes each year throughout the United States and Canada. Check back often, as we add classes throughout the year. If you would like to request a class in your area, or for your department, please contact us. Be sure to add your name to our email list to be kept informed of new classes and changes.

Is the hotel and meals included in class fee?
No, both the hotel and meals are the responsibility of the attendee.

Can a student pay on the day of the class?
The class must be paid in-full by registration the first day. We accept credit cards, checks, cash or money orders. You may pay online any time before the class. If you pay online within 48 hours of the class, please bring your online payment confirmation for verification.

I don't see a class coming to my area, how can I get that to happen?
Contact us to discuss the possibility of adding a class for your city/area or department. We can also offer onsite classes exclusively for an agency or department, based on a minimum number of attendees.

What forms of payment do you accept?
IAPE accepts checks and most all major credit cards online (through Paypal). Purchase orders can be included with your invoice (see the online registration form for more details).

Is the class just for sworn officers?
No, the class, as well as membership and certification, is open to both civilian and sworn property officers.

Is the Property and Evidence management class, just for the property custodian?
No, the class has been designed for anyone who is assigned to the property room or who supervises/ manages the unit. It is not unusual to have Chiefs, sheriffs and property officers attending our classes.

What if I cannot afford the class fee?
IAPE offers a limited number of scholarships to our training class. Please click to download the pdf with more information.

What are the requirements to become certified?
To become certified, CPES, you must be a, IAPE member in-good-standing with IAPE, have successfully taken the Property Management class offered by IAPE, applied and passed the CPES test, and paid the fee for the certification.
The requirements for CCPES are somewhat similar to the CPES. Please refer to the Certification page for more detailed information.

Where do I go to take the certification test?
Once your application and payment is recieved and processed you will be emailed a web site link and login information. The entire test process takes place online, and is text-based, so there are no internet connection speed issues.

When do I know my test results and get my certificate?
You will know immediately at completion of the 50 multiple choice questions if you have passed. You will be mailed your certificate within 10 business days.

How long is my certification valid?
